This mosaic couch is part of the Goldwell Open Air Museum in ghost town of Rhyolite, Nevada. This piece is titled Sit Here and is the creation of Sofia Siegmann. Originally created for the Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas in 2000. The Goldwell Open Air Museum brochure says that Sit Here was rescued in 2007 restored and reinvisioned at Goldwell in 2007.
I don't know about you but the fact that word rescued when describing a piece of art work is quite disturbing. I makes me feel that Las Vegas is devoid of culture.

THAT IS COOL, WOULD LOVE IT ON THE PATIO!
The word "rescued" is better then "destroyed" in art terms. The second one is so very well known here:-(.
I very much like this piece. The mosaic artists are the mountains of patience.
Well, compared to most other cities, Vegas is a little big devoid of culture (Cirque shows don't count).
That is so cool. I need to get over to Rhyolite
