Sin City Sindy

Where else but Las Vegas can find a 30 foot Stripper! Meet Sin City Sindy Las Vegas' newest stripper. Patrons must walk between her legs to get into The Stripper Bar. Crazy isn't it? But wait there's more, a hidden camera will snap a souvenir photo of those who try to sneak a peek up Sindy's skirt. The Stripper Bar is inside Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile Shops next to the V Theater.

Fendi

This baby looks too much like Dr Evil's Mini Me from the Austin Powers series. This was shot inside City Center's Crystals shopping mall at the Fendi shop.

World Cup Fever

Las Vegas has World Cup fever, this is shot at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. I know nothing about soccer other than it is gaining popularity in the US.

Jersey Boy

This is the Cadillac Escalade that James Gandolfini drove in my favorite HBO series The Sopranos. It was auctioned yesterday at Planet Hollywood.

I must have been in a Jersey state of mind after seeing this I just finished up watching MTV's Jersey Shore. Yeah, I know...It's like a car wreck, you know you shouldn't look but you can't keep your eyes off it! Snooki is my fave!

The Bull Ship

This is the bow of the Bull Ship, the Pirate ship at Treasure Island.  Show times are 7:00pm, 8:30pm and 10:00pm, (11:30pm summer only) and the best part it's free!

A Siren of TI

Treasure Island or TI as it is known now, has a free show in the evenings which features a  battle between the Sirens of TI and a band of Pirates. The show takes place on the Strip in front of the hotel. This is the bow of the Sirens' ship. Show times are 7:00pm, 8:30pm and 10:00pm, (11:30pm summer only).  The show is not bad but I enjoy looking at the details of each of the 2 ships and the facade of the pirates cove.

It gets crowded so I recommend you keep you wallet close, with all the bumping and the show to distract you makes you an easy target for pickpockets.

Big Giant Head The Sequel

This big giant head  reminds me of Spock. Also in front of the Southern Nevada Center for the Arts on Third Street.

Big Giant Head

So this giant head conjures up images of Bourbon Street in New Orleans during Mardi Gras people riding on floats with big giant heads throwing coins and trinkets to a bunch of drunks.Ahhh I digress.

I shot this giant head in front of the Southern Nevada Center for the Arts on Third Street.

This is a sign for Yoga classes inside the Southern Nevada Center for the Arts at 1310 S Third Street within the Arts District.

Bombs Away

No longer obscured by a chain link fence, I was thrilled to get some great shots of this piece.I don't know about you but I for one am blown away by the talent of these Aerosol Artists. There is such incredible artwork within 18b and not all of it is in the galleries!

My Favorite

This was my favorite out of all 6, I like the scales on it which remind me of a dragon and the white sparkle.

New Additions

Here's the rest of the wall with more artists working away. This shot doesn't do the wall justice but at the very least you get a feel for the project. However shooting into the sun does have it's advantages, producing an artsy effect, a little lens flare for the artist in me.

Work in Progess

I shot this on Sunday afternoon, while the Artists were at work. The artists were gracious, and cool with having Larry and I shooting them while they were working. Last night I returned to shoot the finished project only to find 3 more Artists working on their masterpieces. I was thrilled again to watch 3 more Artists working away.

While I am going to hate saying this out loud but I am old enough to be the mother all of the artists.I will say  they were all respectful and actually where happy to hear that ALVDP followers loved their work. I got tangled up in a dispute last night,to sum it up in a nutshell real estate vs. art. I'll let you know how it unravels...

An Assault From the Left

I have to share with you one of my observations I have made while living here in Las Vegas. So please indulge me, I have never in my life come across so many left handed people.  I work with 4 Southpaws  and I work in a small office, how crazy is that? This has got to be an amazing percentage considering growing up there was just my older sister and the other "Mo" at St Augustine's (both had atrocious handwriting). 

I did not notice that one of the Artists was left handed until I started to run thru my shots!

Art Supply

I don't know about you but I always though artistic painting was done with a paint brush. More and more I am truly amazed at the Aerosol Artwork I see in and around 18b. Yesterday was a real treat to watch 3 Artists at work. This is a shot of one of the many colors they were using on their wall. 

No More Peeking Over the Fence

For a couple of years I've tried to shoot this wall a chain link fence stood in my way, I thought I would outsmart the fence by standing the back of pick up truck while shooting over it, the result was ok but too far away. 

The fences had been removed for sometime, we could move around freely we tried to catch them at First Friday and well, we showed up to late so the lack of light worked against us. But this afternoon the Aerosol Gods were watching over us and we had no fences to overcome, there was plenty of light and  got to watch 3 very talented artist's work on a new project!

Ok so this was my Facebook profile for a while, this was shot back in March. This shot was on our way to  Area51 and to Rachel, NV home of the Alien Inn. The Coachman's Restaurant

This is the covered patio at the Coachman's Restaurant where they have the Puppies on the Patio Sunday brunch. Their menu looks pretty good for other meals as well we may have to try it one night for dinner. Check out their menu here.http://www.coachmanslv.com/

Puppies on the Patio

Sundays from 9:00 am to 2pm you and your 4 legged best friend can enjoy brunch on the patio at the Coachman Restaurant. Puppies on the Patio is the latest rage in Las Vegas, your dog has a choice of filet mignon or chicken served with rice an carrots.My dog Suzie enjoyed the filet mignon while I had steak and eggs. Now that summer is upon us though I would recommend going earlier in the morning, the patio is covered and there are misting fans but it's just too hot.

The Mad Greek on the corner of Sahara and Durango looks like something right out of  My Big Fat Wedding.

Rock Star Seating

Feel like a Rock Star when you sit in the guitar chair! I found this last night outside of the Box Office at First Friday.

Yellowtail Sushi restaurant inside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. I'm sure it's wonderful if you like sushi. I couldn't tell you as I do not like fish. Seafood now that's another story. Happy Friday. If you're in Vegas tonight is First Friday from 6 pm to 10pm the best $2.00 you'll spend on a Friday night in Vegas.
