The Eagle has Landed
An American Bald Eagle made of chocolate. It doesn't get any better than that! At Jean-Philippe Patissere inside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino you will find some of the most decedent deserts in Las Vegas. It's also popular spot to grab a cup of coffee and a quick muffin, crepe or sweet roll for breakfast. I recommend the Nutella Brioche.

Tour de Fat
.
Being a fan of the Tour de France this made me chuckle. The Tour wraps up the weekend when they ride into Paris Sunday morning. Right now it's a pretty tight race between Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck. The race will pretty much be decided Saturday

The Attic Future
This is The Attic's future home hopefully by August 6th. While the future of The Attic's original building remains uncertain, the people who make The Attic great will continue to bring Las Vegas their funky vintage style no matter where they call home.

The Attic Present
This is The Attic present day after the explosion from the fire across the street blew out the windows. The sing on the boarded up door says they will be moving temporarily to the blue building across the street 1025 Main Street. They are shooting to open up at that location August 6th.

The Attic Past
This is The Attic Downtown's funky vintage clothing store some of you may remember it from the Visa commercial. The Attic unfortunately is one of the business' that have been effected by the Opportunity Village Thrift Store Fire. The sign on the boarded up door says it's no longer safe to be in the building, since the explosion.
This is a photo I took a few months ago when all was well. Tomorrow will take a look at how it The Attic looks present day.

Restorations
Opportunity Village provides training and jobs for mentally challenged in the Las Vegas community. This the Opportunity Village Thrift Store which just last week was the scene of a horrible fire. Many of the area's business' have been effected by the fire, store windows were blown out by the heat of the fire. The Las Vegas Fire Department still has not found the cause of the fire.

Shoot the Boot!
This is post close to my heart. 16 years ago when the NY Rangers won the Stanley cup in 1994 believe me almost everyone I grew up with or knew was doing some serious celebrating! So you're like what does this have to do with a boot at the Pub in Las Vegas? I'm getting there ok...So my brother had friend who tried to convince him to drink a celebratory beer from his Topsider, hence Shoot the Boot.
To set the record straight you don't have to have your favorite hockey, baseball or football team to win a championship to Shoot the Boot. You can Shoot the Boot at The Pub inside the Monte Carlo for $25.00. The Boot has a fabulous strap so you can take your boot to go and roam the Las Vegas Strip.

Big Giant Coconut Head
"What is that your posting? "My husband asked. "Why it's some big giant Coconut Head." And yes this big giant Coconut is on the Strip at the Hawaiian Marketplace. So as you can tell I have never been to Hawaii and pretty much know nothing about Hawaii.

Road Patriot
Last night as the sun began to set I grabbed the camera, dog and her leash and off we went. I had decided it was high time for me to go and get that photo of the "ouble penalty" (that's right ouble penalty) in work zones sign. When I got there well it was gone, procrastination wins again. Instead I got this shot some sort of markings for a construction crew. Cox is the local cable company, I'm really not sure what Patriot represents but what was really cool was as we were walking back home I could here the Air Force jets overhead heading out to Fallon on their nightly exercises. So that is how this post came to be.

Steer on The Strip
This is a steer at Smith and Wollensky's on the Strip, across the street from the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino. I've not eaten at this location but I've eaten at the NYC location, at 49th and 3rd. It was very good, steaks were great but I also recommend the creamed spinach.

PETA on The Strip
Yesterday 2 members of PETA dressed as giant condoms to get the message out to spay and neuter your pets. You ask why condoms? Because you pets can't wear condoms! It's up to us to spay and neuter our pets.
This shot was taken by my husband Larry, since I was stuck at work. The condoms are on The Strip in front of the Mirage Hotel and Casino.

Sticker Shock
This is the first to time I've noticed this a sticker to raise the price of the fine for parking in a handicapped spot. Is this new or has this been going on and I missed it? Also who parks in a handicapped spot without a handicapped sticker.
I spotted this sign outside of the Draft House.

Theme Day Reflections
It's July already! Where does the time go? Today is the City Daily Photo Bloggers Theme Day. Today's theme is reflections. This is the entrance to City Center's shopping mall Crystals, in them you can seen the reflection of (what I have dubbed) the big giant eraser. I featured it on my New Years Day post. It makes another appearance on ALVDP as a reflection.
