2011 Iron Girl Lake Las Vegas

This was the scene this about 6:30 this morning at the 2011 Iron Girl Lake Las Vegas. Let me tell you it was cold! 800 women from 26 states and Canada swam, rode and ran because, well they could. This was my first triathlon, which I am happy to say I participated and finished! So today's photo credit goes to my husband Larry since I am in the queue to start the race.

Death Valley Airlift

Mercy Air landed right next to our truck at Badwater in Death Valley National Park. The pilot set down right next to our truck. Fortunately, the patient wasn't to bad off but this is the best way to get to Las Vegas from the park if you're having a medical issues.

From the Edge in Red Rock Canyon

Last week on Theme Day I posted a shot from nature photographer Peter Lik's Gallery inside the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. Peter Lik's new show From the Edge premiered last week, with Peter capturing some truly amazing images in Hawaii.

This week I was contacted by the Weather Channel asking if I would feature another post about the show. Sweet!  In this week's show Peter shoots here in Las Vegas' own Red Rock Canyon. The peacock in front is what most of us are familiar with. That white peacock still blows me away,  Saturday was the first time I had ever seen one up close.

Meet The Duke the Las Vegas Wranglers' mascot. The Las Vegas Wranglers are our semi pro hockey team. We went to the game last night at the Orleans Arena had a great time, it was a nice way to cool off after a 92° day.
